The World’s Biggest and Best Franchise

What is the world’s biggest franchise: Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, KFC? With more than 36,000 restaurants in 120 countries, McDonald’s is pretty large, but it’s not in the same league as Christianity, which has more than 37 million churches located in virtually every nation on earth.

Of course, there are some remarkable differences between the Church and McDonald’s, and it might seem a little inappropriate to compare the two. But the point is that God knows what He’s doing when it comes to growing things that are good!

Biblical Business Advice

Whilst the Bible might not necessarily be the first port of call for business advice, there is plenty we can learn from Jesus’s approach.

Firstly, if you’ve got something good – share it.

In Matthew 5:15, Jesus tells us, “Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house” (NIV).

If your church is doing amazing work in your community, then we want to hear about it. A lamp doesn’t shine light on itself – it shines light on others. Sharing your great work isn’t about showing off – it’s about empowering others to do great work.

Secondly, you don’t need to do all the work yourself. Remember, whilst Christ is the focus of our faith, He didn’t madly rush from place to place setting up churches and preaching; he commissioned his disciples to do that.

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus tells the apostles, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (NIV).

Cinnamon Project Lab

Here at Cinnamon, we love the idea of finding great church-based projects, and growing them to a point where other churches can literally pick them up and replicate them to good effect.

Back at the start of March, we launched our Cinnamon Project Lab 2018 competition. The aim is to find great church-based social action projects and to develop them to a point where they can be replicated in other churches.

This year, we are specifically looking for church-based projects who work with Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic communities, and who have a desire to see their initiative replicated in churches across the country. The winner will receive world-class training via our Cinnamon Incubator and a development grant of £30,000.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday, 23 April, so if your church is running a life-changing project that has the potential to be replicated, we’d love you to consider entering Project Lab 2018All of the details are available on the Project Lab page..

Ask God to help each of us to share the good things we have for the benefit of others.

Tell churches in your area about Cinnamon Project Lab and encourage them to visit the website and apply.
