Supporting Families in Isolation
May 21 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pmFree
With toddler groups, coffee mornings and face-to-face mentoring on hold, how can churches best support families during lockdown?
COVID-19 has increased the number of vulnerable families in our communities and intensified the challenges facing those already within this group.
Even before the current pandemic, The Children’s Commissioner estimated that more than two million children in England were living in families with substantial complex needs.
COVID-19 has exacerbated many of those needs, such as lack of food, cramped living conditions, job insecurity, substance abuse and mental health problems.
Join our Cinnamon Connect Webinar, where we’ll explore how the church can most effectively support families within their communities and develop strategies to help them in the longterm.
On Thursday 21 May at 11 am Nick Amis, from Cinnamon Network will be talking to Emma Tanner from The Princess Project; and Eli Gardner from Kids Matter.
Nick, Emma and Eli will be discussing:
- What impact lockdown has had on already isolated families
- How churches can build and maintain relationships during this time
- Why it’s important to work in partnership with local authorities
- How volunteers can demonstrate support without burning out
