Cinnamon Project Lab 2019

Cinnamon Network is inviting ambitious church-based projects that want to replicate their work across the country to enter the Cinnamon Project Lab 2019 competition.

Two winners will receive a development grant of £30k and a place on the Cinnamon Project Incubator where they’ll get support from industry leaders to develop their project so it can be replicated through other churches.

This year we’re specifically looking for brilliant projects that are making a difference to the health and wellbeing of their communities and tick the following boxes:

  • Church-sized
  • Replicable
  • Well-led
  • Good track record
  • Vision to grow

The application deadline for Project Lab 2019 has now passed.  If you’re thinking about whether this is something you’d like to apply for in the future please:

What will happen next?

In May, a judging panel, including representatives from Cinnamon and Mercers’ Company, will shortlist five projects to be put forward to the final.

The five finalists and up to two reserve projects will participate in a one-day Presentation Masterclass in early June in central London. Through this course they’ll receive professional help to develop the pitch they will deliver at the Project Lab Final.

The Project Lab Final is on Tuesday 25 June 2019 at Mercers’ Hall in central London. Each project will give a six-minute pitch, and then answer questions from a panel of expert judges and invited guests. Project Lab judges will select two winning projects to receive funding and a guaranteed place on the Cinnamon Incubator.

Guests at the event will also be invited to make a donation to fund the other finalists through the Cinnamon Incubator, too.

All finalists must be able to attend a five-day residential ‘incubator immersion’ training programme from 14-17 October 2019 at a venue two hours away from London.

We’re really looking for great social action projects that are passionate about sharing their work. They might not yet be the finished article, but they must have great potential to be replicated through churches across the country.
